Koh Samui

One of the island’s best loved areas is Chaweng Beach. It is so popular that a small town has grown around it. This area is now home to some of the most well-known restaurants, bars and entertainment venues in Thailand. There is also a good variety of hotels in the area, with family-friendly hotels and quieter luxury hotels set back amongst the trees.

Far less congested than Chaweng is the beautiful Bophut Beach, home to some of the most elegant resorts on Koh Samui. Bophut is also home to the Fisherman’s village; an area of traditionally built houses that contains a local market and other chic boutiques and retail establishments. The beach area provides some of the best beaches on the island lapped by gentle waves that make it perfect for swimming. Set back from the sands you will find plenty of 5-star resorts with well-manicured gardens and perfect locations for a poolside cocktail.

The tree-lined hills to the north-east of the island are home to some of the most elegant resorts on Koh Samui. Near to Choeng Mon Beach the hotels flow down the hillside, over a variety of levels until they reach the crystal-clear waters of the sea. Most of the resorts include complimentary activities such as paddle-boarding and yoga sessions. If you are seeking a luxury break for body and mind then Choeng Mon Beach is the perfect location.

Wherever you stay on Koh Samui, you are never far from the ocean, and one of the greatest attractions of staying on the island is its proximity to the Ang Thong National Marine Park which is only ever a short boat trip away. Here you will find more than 40 islands made from rocky limestone, providing distinctive natural towers and many hidden bays with secret caves and untouched sandy coves. So in the event that somehow you have exhausted all the beaches that the island of Koh Samui has to offer, there is always another nearby just waiting to be discovered.
