The Maldives

‘The ultimate in luxury island escapes’

Probably the ultimate in luxury escapes, the islands of The Maldives tick all the boxes for a relaxing beach holiday; warm temperatures all year round, long hours of sunshine, crystal clear waters, pristine white sandy beaches and some of the best resort hotels in the world. With more than 1000 Indian Ocean islands to escape to, the Maldives is the paradise you have been dreaming of.

Pale blue waters, soft sand and calm lagoons feature prominently on every island, and nearly every island now has a resort hotel to match. Service and high-standards are expected at all the hotels in the Maldives, but depending on your budget you could stay on your own private island or sleep in a villa on stilts above the ocean. There are only good and very good hotels to choose from here, but each will offer something unique for you to try.

We can help you find the best location for your holiday depending on what your priorities and budget are. Certain resorts are better suited for families, or for those seeking activities such as diving or snorkelling. Others are better suited for couples and honeymooners, so it is important to let us know what you are seeking from your Maldivian holiday.

The North Male Atoll is an expanse of islands that stretches for more than 32 miles. Of the 50 islands in this atoll, only a few are currently inhabited. The north side of this atoll attracts surfers as it is home to the Maldives most famous waves called “The Cokes”, close to the island of Thulusdhoo. The North Male Atoll is also home to the capital of the Maldives; Male, where you will find a bustling hub of local commercial activity and golden dome of the central mosque. Male is the most common arrival point in to the Maldives and with many attractions and island resort, it is easy to see why the North male Atoll is the most popular with tourists.

The South Male Atoll is the smaller neighbour, containing 22 islands separated from the North Male Atoll by a deep-water channel. Generally, the South Male Atoll is not as developed and less busy than the northern atoll, but it offers a variety of high-quality resorts and is a particularly good location for those looking for good diving sites. The journey time to the South Male Atoll is generally around 45 minutes by speedboat from the International airport at Male.

The Raa Atoll is one of the largest in the Maldives, consisting of nearly 100 different islands, located to the north of Male. Despite the size, the Raa Atoll is actually less developed than its more southern neighbours. This atoll is home to some spa resorts and resorts for those looking to get away from everything. Transfers to the Raa Atoll are usually by float-plane.
